Overview
Five days focused on the Serengeti and Ngorongoro: two full days in the Serengeti to follow the wildlife, then a full game drive on the Ngorongoro Crater floor before returning to Arusha.
Experience Overview
Rather than spreading five days across many parks, this itinerary gives most of its time to the Serengeti, where extra days make the biggest difference. After a first night in the Ngorongoro highlands, you cross into the park and spend two nights inside it, with time to follow lion prides and cheetahs in the Seronera valley or travel towards the migration herds, depending on the month.
On the way back you stop at Ngorongoro Crater for a full game drive on the crater floor – lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos and one of the last populations of black rhino in the north – before the drive back to Arusha.

Itinerary

Day 1 · Ngorongoro Highlands
Pick-up in Arusha and drive through Mto wa Mbu and Karatu into the green Ngorongoro highlands, with a stop at the crater rim viewpoint in the afternoon. Overnight at a lodge near the crater.
Day 2 · Serengeti National Park
Drive west past Olduvai Gorge and enter the Serengeti at Naabi Hill, game driving across the southern plains to the central Seronera valley. Overnight at a camp inside the park.
Day 3 · Serengeti National Park
A full day in the Serengeti with a picnic lunch. Your guide follows what the wildlife is doing – big cats along the Seronera River, hippo pools and kopjes, or the migration herds when they are within reach.
Day 4 · Ngorongoro Crater
A morning game drive on your way out of the Serengeti, then return to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater for an afternoon game drive among lions, buffalo, elephants and black rhino. Overnight near the crater rim.
Day 5 · Arusha
A relaxed breakfast with views over the highlands, then drive back to Arusha, with an optional stop at the Mto wa Mbu market, arriving around midday for your onward plans.
